Pourquoi étudier le baptême dans l’Esprit saint ?
Résumé : L’effusion de l’Esprit au vingtième siècle dans le renouveau pentecôtiste-charismatique est un phénomène qui soulève de profondes questions pour la vie de l’Église. La grâce connue comme « baptême dans l’Esprit Saint » est au cœur de ce renouveau. Cet article réfléchit sur le baptême dans l’Esprit à partir d’une triple perspective – historico-culturelle, théologique et missionnaire – et conclut que cette grâce fait partie de la réponse providentielle de Dieu en réponse aux défis auxquels l’Église doit faire face à notre époque.
Abstract : The twentieth-century outpouring of the Spirit in the Pentecostal-Charismatic Renewal is a phenomenon that raises profound questions for the life of the church. At the heart of the Renewal is the grace known as “baptism in the Holy Spirit”. This article reflects on baptism in the Spirit from within a threefold context – cultural-historical, theological, and missionary – and concludes that this grace is part of God’s providential answer to the challenges faced by the church in our time.
